"The whale shark is the biggest fish in the world, completely harmless, docile and curious creature, it´s so docile that allows the observation and swimming around them while calmly moving through the sea." From Cancun/Playa Del Carmen: After picking you up at your hotelÂ´s lobby at 5:30 am in Playa del Carmen and 6:30 am in Cancun (all our vehicles are comfortable, modern, and air-conditioned), we will be waiting for you at Punta Sam (15 minutes from Cancun) for registration and continental breakfast, or to rent a wetsuit (if you have your own, bring it) at 7:00 am. After breakfast, we will be ready to swim with Whale Sharks in Cancun.

Very good company

First time staying on isla mujeres with our 3 young kids. Such a great company to work with. They arranged pick up from airport, private boat over to isla mujeres, and golf cart rental. Will definitely use them again!

15 whale sharks day 1, 12 whale sharks day 2

Swimming with whale sharks has been on my wife's bucket list for over 15 years and these guys made it happen! This is definitely the operation I would choose. We went two days in a row to increase the chances of seeing whale sharks. There are a few things you should know going in. The company can't control the weather (boatrides were 1 to 1 1/2 hours each direction in bumpy seas both days), they can't control the other boats (day 1 we found ourselves with 4 other boats which was nbd--day 2 we left early due to over 50 boats chasing about 10 whale sharks--not cool for the sharks at all), and they can't control whether or not you will actually find whale sharks. If you can't deal with these realities, you may want to pass on this. That being said, we have 200 dives under our belts from all over the world and this trip is in our top 10. We stayed on Isla Mujeres and did the first day with a group of 5. Second day was a VIP tour with just the two of us. Highly recommend Alex's operation. Sergio was our guide and we requested him by name for day 2.

Excellent Swim with Whake Sharks

We had a great experience swimming with the whale sharks in early July. Alejandro was great to deal with when booking, he answered ALL of my many questions with patience. Luis and the Captain were great, they were both experts with the whale shark swim. Luis held my hand to ensure I had the best views and did one on one with my 70 year old Mom. We had 2 private boats with a total of 17 people. All thought this was the highlight of our trip. I would recommend DC Explorers to anyone who wants a professional and safe whale shark swim.

Once in a lifetime

My husband, best friend, and I travelled to Isla Mujeres to swim with whale sharks for my 50th birthday. This has been on my bucket list for so long and it exceeded our expectations! I booked a private tour because I really wanted a unique experience with just us. Our captain and mate/guide were amazing! From the nice breakfast, pictures, and total experience we were beyond happy. This was such a beautiful surreal experience. We have beautiful pictures and videos from both DC Explorer as well as our own. I will be forever grateful for this once in a lifetime experience. Thank you!

Whale Shark tour

We had a family vacation to Cancun September 2020 for my husband's 50th birthday. We had a party of 11 go on the whale shark tour. Luis & Gabriel were our crew. The did a wonderful job. This trip is definitely not for the faint of stomach. Sea sickness is eminent if you suffer from that!!! We saw tons of manta rays as well as the whale sharks. Our trip included phots and video, which were a little disappointing, however, our guide was doing his best to make sure we saw the animals and do pics at the same time, which is no easy feat! A lot of our group got sea sick, however the end of the day made up for it. We stopped at Isla Mujeres north beach on our way back and it was awesome! Just what we needed. Gabriel made us fresh ceviche while we waded in the sea. It made for a great end of the day!!
